HC Deb 17 June 1918 vol 107 c23
79. Sir F. HALL

asked the Undersecretary of State for War whether, considering that Acting-Bombardier Charles William Eric Oxtoby, No. 626264, Honourable Artillery Company, is the only son of his widowed mother, and that she is almost dependent upon him, having lost her other son in the War, he will take the necessary steps to release this young soldier from the Army, so that he may be enabled to render his mother the assistance of which she stands in need?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Mr. Macpherson)

I am looking into this case, and will write to my hon. and gallant Friend.
