HC Deb 17 June 1918 vol 107 c61
Mr. RUNCIMAN

May I ask the Leader of the House what Orders he proposes to take to-day?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The first two—[Trade Boards Bill—Second Reading, and Defence of the Realm (Beans, Peas, and Pulse Orders) Bill—Committee].

Mr. KING

Does that mean that the Select Committee [Emergency Legislation] will not be moved?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It means that it will be moved. We do not consider that an Order.

Mr. KING

In view of that decision, may I ask the right hon. Gentleman whether he will defer moving this Select Committee until we have had the Report of Mr. Justice Atkin's Committee? That Report is not yet published, and it seems very unreasonable to move a Committee to consider a Report before that Report is available to Members of the House.

Mr. BONAR LAW

I shall not move it to-day. I will look into that matter.
