HC Deb 17 June 1918 vol 107 c13
22. Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he can say what arrangements are being made for allotment holders to market their surplus productions; are local markets to be held in convenient places; and, if so, can he state how many have already been fixed, and where; and what means are being taken to advise allotment holders?

Mr. PROTHERO

I will send my hon. Friend a copy of the Food Production Department's scheme for the marketing of surplus produce from allotments and small holdings. It will, it is expected, be put into operation in half the counties this season. The scheme is too detailed for an answer to a question. I shall be happy to supply the hon. Member with any additional particulars that he may require as to the progress of the scheme which has been widely advertised.
