§ Mr. BRACEI would refer the hon. Member to the report of the Committee presided over by my right hon. Friend the Member for North Worcestershire, and to the statement made on behalf of the Government in another place on 14th May. The Committee reported unanimously against any system of successive variations. The proposal would greatly intensify the disadvantages already felt in connection with the present advance of the clock, particularly in agriculture and certain industries, and, as has been already stated by my right hon. Friend in reply to a previous question on the subject, there would be no substantial economy in lighting and fuel effected by the change.
