WHITEasked the Secretary to the Treasury what was the total amount of tithe rent-charge attached to benefices in respect of which the sum of rather more than £193,000, being half the rates, was paid during the financial year 1917–18 by the Commissioners of Inland Revenue out of public money under the Tithe Bent-Charge (Rates) Act, 1899; and whether his attention has been called to the fact that the relief thus given to the owners of this tithe rent-charge for this last financial year is greater than in any previous year since the Act was passed?
