44. Mr. GULL ANDasked the President of the Local Government Board whether he has now consulted the Treasury as to the cost of the new electoral registers; and whether these will be sold at lower prices than those named in the recent Order in Council?
Mr. FISHERI have consulted my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and understand that the prices set out in the Order in Council represent the actual cost of printing and paper, and that no charge for setting the type is included. In these circumstances my right hon. Friend does not at present see his way to make any reduction in the prescribed fees.
