§ 11. Mr. KINGasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he is now in a position to give some account of the progress of voluntary recruiting in Ireland; and on what date are figures to be published?
§ Mr. SAMUELSI am informed by the Irish Recruiting Council that they have been mainly engaged up to the present on the work of organisation and preliminary propaganda. I am unable at present to say at what date figures will be published.
§ Mr. KINGIn view of the fact that it would encourage others to know that some had already joined, and a warning also to know that the 50,000 required were in danger of not being obtained, can we have an authoritative statement of the numbers within a month?
§ Mr. SAMUELSI am unable to state at present at what time the figures will be published.
