§ 50. Mr. DAVID MASONasked the Prime Minister what action His Majesty's Government intend to take in response to the speech and statement of German war, aims recently made by Herr von Kuhlmann in the Reichstag; and whether the Government will state wherein these aims may be compatible with the views of the Allies and wherein there may be some measure of agreement?
§ Lord R. CECILI do not see that any action can usefully be taken with reference to a statement so vague and inconclusive as that referred to. Our war aims are well known, and we wait in vain for a clear and unambiguous declaration of those of our enemies.
§ Mr. MASONIn view of that unsatisfactory reply, I beg to give notice that at the end of questions I shall ask leave to 1852 move the Adjournment of the House on a definite matter of urgent public importance, namely, the statement of German war aims.
§ Mr. SNOWDENWill the Noble Lord say where we can find that clear statement of Allied war aims?
§ Lord R. CECILThe hon. Member knows perfectly well, and I can give him no information that he does not already possess.
