HC Deb 29 January 1918 vol 101 c1422
42. Major DAVIES

asked the Minister of Munitions whether a number of discharged soldiers have applied for work at His Majesty's explosives factory at Penrhyndendraeth; if so, whether their requests have been granted; whether women are being employed in this factory in preference to discharged and disabled men; and whether he will have an inquiry made into the circumstances of the whole matter?

Sir W. EVANS

A number of discharged soldiers have applied for work at the factory mentioned. Wherever possible, they have been employed and a considerable number are now working. Women are not employed in preference to discharged and disabled men. I have made full inquiry into the whole position.
