HC Deb 29 January 1918 vol 101 cc1420-1
32 and 33. Mr. WING

asked the Pensions Minister (1) if any arrangements are in hand for allowing all soldiers who are pensioners arising from previous wars from the period of the Indian Mutiny up to the present to be equally treated with the soldiers taking part in the present War; (2) if he is considering or has decided that pensions to widows with children are about to be increased so far as the children are concerned; if so, what are the amounts suggested to be paid, and when such payments are likely to be made?

Sir A. GRIFFITH - BOSCAWEN

I must refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave yesterday to the question put by the hon. Member for East Edinburgh.

Mr. WING

There was no answer given yesterday to question 33 with reference to the widows with children.

Sir A. GRIFFITH - BOSCAWEN

I understood that the answer was given to both, but if the question be asked me now, all I can say is that I am not in a position to make any definite statement.

Mr. HOGGE

When do you expect a decision from the Treasury?

Sir A. GRIFFITH-BOSCAWEN

That question had better be addressed to the Treasury.
