§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND (Department of Overseas Trade)A Selection Committee has been appointed, containing business men among its members, to consider appointments to posts in our Embassies and Legations on the commercial side of the Diplomatic and Consular Services. Capacity to deal with business matters and trade considerations will, of course, be one of the principal qualifications in determining the selection of any candidate.
§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLANDI can give no undertaking as to who will be represented, but in the selection of candidates for this or any other class their business qualifications will be a very important consideration.
