§ 67. Mr. MOONEYasked the Chief Secretary whether his attention has been called to the announcement that the Treasury has made a Grant of £750,000 for the provision of additional cold storage space; if he can state whether any portion of this Grant is to be expended in Ireland; and, if so, if he will take steps to see that the claims of the port of Newry as a suitable place for the erection of a cold storage depot will be considered?
Mr. PARKERI have been asked to reply. The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative; the answer to the second part is in the negative. If a suitable scheme for cold storage accommodation at Newry is put forward, the advisability of granting a loan for its erection will be considered.
