HC Deb 28 February 1918 vol 103 c1561
3. Mr. O'DONNELL

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he proposes to issue new Rules regulating the payment of the State Grant for secondary education in Ireland?

Mr. SAMUELS

The hon. Member presumably refers to the recent Supplementary Grant of £50,000 for purposes of intermediate education in Ireland. Provisional Rules for the distribution of this Grant have been presented to Parliament. The Rules will be a matter for discussion on Report of the Supplementary Estimate for the Grant.

Mr. O'DONNELL

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether, when the discussion takes place next week on this £50,000 Grant, he will be able to indicate the form the new Rules are going to take?

Mr. SAMUELS

The Provisional Rules relating to this £50,000 have been laid on the Table, and can be procured at the Vote Office.
