HC Deb 27 February 1918 vol 103 c1383
82. Mr. ALDEN

asked the President of the Board of Education whether it is his intention to introduce a Bill for the better superannuation of teachers in public elementary schools; and if the Bill will contain a clause providing that certificated teachers who were prevented by circumstances at the time from accepting the Elementary School Teachers' (Superannuation) Act, 1898, may come within the system proposed to be enacted by the Bill?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Fisher)

As regards the first part of the question, I may refer the hon. Member to my answer to the hon. Member for West Nottingham on the 5th February, a copy of which I am sending him. In dealing with the matter, the position of the teachers referred to in the second part of the question will not be overlooked.
