HC Deb 27 February 1918 vol 103 cc1366-7
Captain CARR-GOMM (by Private Notice)

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether a new form is now being issued to caterers in London which is to be filled up with the names, rank, etc., of soldiers to whom meat is served; whether this will render the use of the separate emergency meat card unnecessary, and whether he can make any announcement on the subject?

Mr. CLYNES

I am unable to make any announcement on this subject at the moment, but I am making inquiries, and will convey the information to the hon. and gallant Member as soon as it is received.

Captain CARR-GOMM

Would the Food Ministry consider the practicability of extending the system in question to all butchers and suppliers of meat so as in that way to do without the need of supplying soldiers and sailors with emergency meat cards?

Mr. CLYNES

I should be glad to discuss that suggestion with the hon. and gallant Gentleman.
