HC Deb 27 February 1918 vol 103 cc1362-3
57. Mr. FIELD

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food what arrangement, if any, has been arrived at regarding admission to the Birkenhead scheme for selling Irish live stock and distributing them as a result of the Dublin conference?

Mr. CLYNES

The conference held in Dublin between representatives of the Ministry of Food and the Irish Cattle Traders' and Stock Owners' Association was adjourned for the purpose of enabling the representatives of other associations to attend and discuss the situation in conjunction with the Irish Department of Agriculture. Pending the receipt of the nominations of the various associations concerned, no further action has been taken in the matter. The delay in settlement has not materially affected the export of cattle from Ireland.
