HC Deb 26 February 1918 vol 103 c1247
29. Mr. GILBERT

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller whether he is aware that there are long delays in London cargoes that have been landed at the port of Liverpool reaching London; and whether, in view of the necessity of complete cargoes reaching London as soon as possible, he will take all steps possible in order to ensure that these cargoes shall be dispatched from Liverpool and delivered in London with the least possible delay?

Sir L. CHIOZZA MONEY

The important point referred to by my hon. Friend has had, and is having, most careful attention. The Shipping Controller is doing everything in his power to expedite transport, in spite of inherent difficulties. I should be obliged if my hon. Friend would give me any specific instances of undue delay which are brought to his notice.
