HC Deb 21 February 1918 vol 103 c905
46. Sir A. MORTON

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the immigration of Russians to this country; and whether he has considered this from a labour and food point of view'?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir G. Cave)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. Immigration from Russia has long been completely stopped. The very small number of Russians arriving in this country are either visitors who come for a short time on business, or persons already resident here returning to their homes. On the other hand, a large number of Russians have recently been returned to their own country.
