HC Deb 21 February 1918 vol 103 c908
27. Mr. PONSONBY

asked the Home Secretary whether he will consider the advisability of releasing R. C. Fairbairn, now employed at the work centre at Wakefield, who is an Australian not ordinarily resident in this country, seeing that he would be more usefully employed performing duties as a doctor, for which he is specially qualified?

Sir G. CAVE

This man is now employed under the Committee on the Employment of Conscientious Objectors. The hon. Member's suggestion will be considered if and when Fairbairn becomes qualified for exceptional employment under the rules.
