HC Deb 20 February 1918 vol 103 c732
63. Mr. A L D E N

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether the new system of rationing will apply to the House of Commons; and, if so, what is the method to be adopted; and whether he can assure the House that it will apply equally to all members of the Government?

Mr. CLYNES

The Kitchen Committee have adopted and applied all the Food Regulations issued to date, and it is presumed that the Committee will apply the new scale of rations in like manner. The House of Commons will presumably be regarded as caterers—that is to say, as an establishment which regularly provides meals to non-residents. The answer to the last part of the question is in the affirmative.
