HC Deb 19 February 1918 vol 103 cc598-9
22. Colonel Sir FREDERICK HALL

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether the case of temporary male civilian clerks referred to in an answer he gave to a question on the 15th January has now been considered by the Conciliation and Arbitration Board of Government Employers; whether, in consequence of the increased cost of living, an additional war bonus has yet been granted;.and, if not, when this will be done?

Mr. FORSTER

So far as I am aware, no decision has yet been reached.

Sir F. HALL

Did not the right hon. Gentleman, on 15th January, reply to me that the question was being gone into and that a decision would be given very shortly, and under the circumstances can he not expedite the matter?

Mr. FORSTER

I am afraid that it does not rest with me, but with the tribunal that is considering the matter. I acknowledge that I did on 15th January say that I hoped that a decision would be announced very shortly, and I share my hon. and gallant Friend's disappointment.
