HC Deb 19 February 1918 vol 103 cc596-7
25. Mr. SNOWDEN

asked what number of men employed under the Committee on Employment of Conscientious Objectors have been allowed to take up exceptional employment under the new rules published in December last?

Sir G. CAVE

Of the 120 men who, as I informed the hon. Member yesterday have been deemed by the Committee on Employment of Conscientious Objectors, to be qualified for exceptional employment, 32 have now submitted to the Committee proposals as to the employment which they desire to take up. Of these proposals, 24 have been approved by the Committee, 7 are still under consideration, and I has been refused.
