HC Deb 14 February 1918 vol 103 c257
30. Colonel FABER

asked the Homo Secretary whether E D. Morel, otherwise known as Morel-de-Ville, is an alien by birth; whether he has received six months' imprisonment under the Defence of the Realm Act; whether he is now to be automatically interned: and. if not, will he say why this course is not to be adopted?

Sir G. CAVE

This man was French by birth, but became a British subject by naturalisation in 1896. He has served the sentence mentioned, and there is no power to intern him automatically on its expiration.

Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

Will my right hon. Friend bring in a Bill to give power to revoke a certificate of naturalisation?
