§ 71. Mr. DENMANasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to a legal decision from which it appears that the large number of children who are illegally employed do not enjoy the protection of the Workmen's Compensation Acts; and, if so, what steps, by legislation or otherwise, he proposes to take in the matter?
§ Sir G. CAVEMy attention has been called to the decision to which the hon. Member refers. The judges said that they arrived at their decision with great regret. I share their regret, and I will consider whether it is possible to deal with the matter by legislation at an early date.
