§ 31. Mr. ANDERSONasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that a woman worker employed by the inspection Department of the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, met with an accident on 29th March, 1917, for which she received compensation under the scheme in force for Government workers under the Workmen's Compensation Act; whether the authorities of the Woolwich Arsenal took the necessary steps to obtain the sanction of the Treasury for further payment under the scheme, and requested them to give an early decision, but have not yet received any answer from the Treasury; and whether he will take steps to expedite the decision of the Treasury?
§ Mr. BALDWINIf the hon. Member will give me the name of the woman worker concerned, I will at once cause inquiry to be made. The number of these cases is, unfortunately, very considerable, and the particulars given are not sufficient for identification.
