§ Sir L. CHIOZZA MONEYI have been asked to answer this question. In round figures the desired information is as follows:
Total British ocean-going mercantile steam tonnage at the outbreak of the war, 18,500,000 tons gross.
Corresponding figures at the present time, 15,000,000 tons gross.
