HC Deb 07 August 1918 vol 109 cc1333-4
17. Colonel YATE

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether he can now-state what decision has been arrived at by the Army Council who have been considering the question of the promotion of officers of the General Reserve above tin-rank of major who have been reported on as fit, and recommended for promotion by the general officers under whom they have been serving, and who have been refused promotion in spite of the provisions of the Royal Warrant and of the Army Council Instructions under which they are eligible for it?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I can add nothing at present to my reply to my hon. and gallant Friend on Thursday last.

Colonel YATE

Has the right hon. Gentleman any hope that this question will be settled in a reasonable time?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Yes, I think so.
