asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he can state, approximately, the number of rifles and machine guns in the custody of the Ulster Volunteers?

Mr. SHORTT

It is believed that the Ulster Volunteers are in possession of 50,000 rifles of different patterns and eleven machine guns.
