HC Deb 02 August 1918 vol 109 cc879-80
Mr. GULLAND

May I ask the Noble Lord whether there is any alteration in the arrangements for Tuesday, and when the Lotteries Bill will be taken?

Lord E. TALBOT (Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury)

Yes, Sir, in order to give more time to the Indian Budget, we think it would be convenient for the House to sit at twelve o'clock on Tuesday, and the Government have, therefore, decided to ask the House to sit at twelve. It is hoped that the discussion on the Indian Budget will close towards seven o'clock, so that other business may be taken. As to the Lotteries Bill, it has not yet come up from another place. As my right hon. Friend announced this afternoon, it is the intention of the Government to give it a Second Reading on that day if it does come up.

Mr. KING

Will the House sit at twelve o'clock on Thursday?

Lord E. TALBOT

It is hoped by the arrangement of a noon sitting on Tuesday that the business done will enable us to ensure taking the Adjournment on Thursday.
