HC Deb 02 August 1918 vol 109 c787
Mr. BONAR LAW

I beg to move, "That Government business be not interrupted this day at Five or Half-past Five of the clock, and may be entered upon at any hour, although opposed."

Mr. GULLAND

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman what Orders he proposes to take to-day?

Mr. BONAR LAW

We propose to take the Maternity and Child Welfare Bill, Lords Amendment—I think there is only one—and, if the House agree, we should also like to take the Second Reading of the Petroleum Production Bill.

Mr. DUNDAS WHITE

May I express the hope that the right hon. Gentleman will not press for the Second Reading of the Petroleum Production Bill to-day? There are several of us who had no opportunity of considering it yesterday. We saw the Minister in charge about taking it, and we understood that it was not going to be taken to-day.

Mr. BONAR LAW

Certainly; if there be any such understanding, it will not be taken.

Question put, and agreed to.
