HC Deb 24 April 1918 vol 105 c986
41. Mr. WRIGHT

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether it is the view of the Ministry of Food that the formation of farmers' co-operative societies for the purpose of increasing the production and distribution of milk, diversion of supplies of whole milk from condenseries to the large centres of population, and for the protection of the producers against the milk trust is the setting up of useless competition and ought not to be encouraged by the Ministry of Food.

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of FOOD (Mr. Clynes)

As I informed the hon. Member on 19th March, the whole question of the production and distribution of milk is under consideration by a specially appointed Committee. Their Report is expected shortly.
