HC Deb 24 April 1918 vol 105 cc998-9
76. Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the President of the Board of Education whether, in view of the fact that the present Grant to day nurseries outside munitions areas of 4d. per attendance is inadequate to meet the increased cost of maintenance, and seeing that the amount allowed to day nurseries in munitions areas is 1s. per attendance, he will increase the Grant to other day nurseries to 8d. per attendance in order to ensure the continuance of this valuable work?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Herbert Fisher)

I recognise the difficulties in which these institutions are placed, and I am considering the position.
