HC Deb 23 April 1918 vol 105 c841
29. Mr. RENDALL

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food if he is aware that only two women are members of the Bristol Food Control Committee and that it is alleged that neither have been chosen by or represent women's organisations; and, if so, will he take steps to secure that additional women representatives of women's organisations should be placed on this committee?

Mr. CLYNES

There are two women workers on the Bristol Local Food Committee. One of them was, I am informed, appointed on the nomination of the Co-operative Women's Guild. The Food Controller is not satisfied that the case is one in which any intervention on his part is required.
