The following Motion stood on the Paper in the name of Lord E. TALBOT: That a Select Committee be appointed to consider and report whether it is expedient that some provision should be made for the temporary modification of statutory requirements with regard to price and dividend in the case of Gas undertakings whose financial circumstances have been injuriously affected by causes arising out of the War; and, if so, on what terms and conditions and whether by private bill or general legislation: That Mr. Acland Allen, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Field, Mr. Macmaster, Mr. Ronald McNeill, Sir William Middlebrook, Mr. Robinson, and Mr. Stewart be members of the Committee: That the Committee have leave to hear counsel upon the matters referred to them so far as they think fit: That the Committee have power to send for persons, papers, and records: That Three be the quorum.
