1. Mr. GEORGE LAMBERT

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether be is able to announce a recognition of seamen who still go to sea although having been in a torpedoed ship on more than one occasion?

I am not yet in a position to make any statement on this question. I will inform the right hon. Gentleman as soon as a, decision is arrived at.

When does the right hon. Gentleman consider that a decision will be arrived at?

I am afraid I cannot say when.

Is my right hon. Friend aware of the very strong feeling among the shipping community as to the course suggested in this question?

Sir A. STANLEY

I will take a decision as early as I possibly can.

Mr. JOYCE

May I ask whether any such recognition as is made will apply to all sections of the Mercantile Marine who have been torpedoed?

Sir A. STANLEY

I will bear that in mind.
