HC Deb 27 November 1917 vol 99 c1824
31. Sir JOHN SPEAR

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he can now give the result of the recent inquiry held at Hallsands, Devon, to consider the appeal of the owners and occupiers of the houses recently destroyed by the removal of the shingle, for compensation for the damage, and assistance to rebuild their houses?

Mr. WARDLE

Sir Maurice Fitzmaurice's Report of his recent inquiry at Hallsands is still under consideration, but I hope to be in a position to communicate a decision in the matter to the hon. Member at an early date.
