HC Deb 27 November 1917 vol 99 c1826
45. Mr. LYNCH

asked the Prime Minister whether he will appoint a small committee of study to ascertain throughout the whole scope of the government of the country the cases where the son of a poor untitled man is placed at a disadvantage, as for example by the existence of some hereditary privileges, as against the son of a rich or a titled man; and whether he will now promise that, on the receipt of such a Report, he will at once institute legislation to remove such conditions?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Bonar Law)

The answer is in the negative.

Mr. LYNCH

May I ask if the principles of democracy are considered bad form by the Government?
