HC Deb 22 November 1917 vol 99 cc1329-30
22. Mr.FITZPATRICK

asked the Vice president of the of Agricul- ture (Ireland), if the Tillage Order has been carried out on the farm held by Mr. Michael Hackett at Streamstown, Birr; and, if not, what steps the Department intend taking to enforce the Order?

Sir THOMAS RUSSELL (Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture, Ireland)

The Department, as intimated in reply to previous similar questions by other hon. Members, do not consider that it would he in the public interest to furnish details of individual cases in connection with the enforcement of the compulsory food production provisions of the Defence of the Realm Regulations. The hon. Member may rely upon it that all necessary steps will be taken by the Department to secure compliance with these provisions in cases of default.
