HC Deb 30 March 1917 vol 92 c746
1. Mr. HOGGE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether it is intended to give commissions as assistant-paymasters, Royal Naval Reserve, to 200 Admiralty clerks between now and the end of the year; whether such men have been passed fit for general service; and whether he will consider the desirability of giving the posts to writers?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)

No such proposal has ever been under consideration.
