HC Deb 30 March 1917 vol 92 c765
44. Mr. LARDNER

asked the Chief Secretary if he will state the names of the persons acting as the Home-Growers' Timber Committee, Ireland; and when and by whom they were appointed?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Forster)

For the present, the directorate of timber supplies is represented in Ireland by Mr. A. C. Forbes, of the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction for Ireland. Mr. Forbes was appointed a member of the Home-Grown Timber Committee in November, 1915.

Mr. LARDNER

Do I understand there is no separate Committee for Ireland to deal with this question, and that it is entirely in the hands of one official of that Government Department?

Mr. FORSTER

There is one Committee for the whole of the United Kingdom.
