HC Deb 20 March 1917 vol 91 c1720
16. Mr. MacVEAGH

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the doctors in the medical department at Woolwich Arsenal are under the jurisdiction of the Army Medical Department?

Mr. MACPHERSON

As far as officers are concerned, appointments are made through the office of the Director-General. I believe one or two women doctors have been appointed by the Arsenal authorities direct. The medical department, like the rest of the Arsenal, is not under the jurisdiction of the Director-General.
