HC Deb 20 March 1917 vol 92 cc4-5
8. Mr. P. A. HARRIS

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will consider permitting children to travel at the old rates when they have to go daily by train to school, if they can produce a certificate from the headmaster of the school that this is the only way they can attend?

Mr. ROBERTS

I fear the suggestion made by the hon. Gentleman cannot be adopted. I would observe, however, that no increase has been made in the rates charged for season-tickets, and that the issue of such tickets to day scholars at half-rates has not been discontinued.
