HC Deb 19 March 1917 vol 91 c1555
74. Mr. GULLAND

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that the Solicitors (Qualification of Women) Bill has passed the House of Lords; whether he is aware that this Bill only applies to England; and whether he will introduce a similar Bill applying to Scotland?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. Munro)

The facts are as stated by my right hon. Friend, but the Bill, as he is aware, is not a Government measure. But before considering his suggestion, I should in any case require to receive more information than I possess as to Scottish opinion in the matter.

Mr. HOGGE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the Government is going to make the English Bill a Government measure?

Mr. MUNRO

That question should be directed to the Prime Minister.

Mr. WATT

Will the right hon. Gentleman say whether ladies will bo admitted to the Bar in Scotland?
