HC Deb 19 March 1917 vol 91 cc1539-40
38. Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Home Secretary what are the restrictions placed upon British subjects confined in internment camps in this country in regard to the sending and receiving of letters and the receiving of visits; what are the punishments for alleged breaches of Regulations; and if the friends of such prisoners are permitted to send money or articles of food and clothing?

Sir G. CAVE

The Regulations with regard to these matters differ according to the conditions in the different places of internment. If the hon. Member has any particular place in mind and will communicate with me, I will endeavour to give him the information he desires. Breaches of the Regulations are usually punished by withdrawal of the privileges which have been abused.
