57. Mr. CURRIE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in addition to the existing provision for the assessment of Income Tax, etc., of Stock Exchange profits made by certain classes of investors, he will introduce legislation to render such profits, when made by parties not liable for Income Tax thereon under existing law, liable to taxation for the period of the War?


I will give consideration to this, as to other suggestions which reach me for raising the revenue required for the public service in the coming, financial year.
