HC Deb 15 March 1917 vol 91 cc1282-3
Mr. SWIFT MacNEILL

May I ask a question of which I have given the right hon. Gentleman a memorandum? The right hon. Gentleman stated that a small Committee of the Cabinet would be appointed in reference to the excised portion of the Dardanelles Report, if the late Prime Minister were willing to join. May I ask, has that small Committee been appointed, and, having regard to the fact that the Cabinet is only five in number, how small the Committee will be?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I am glad to say my right hon. Friend has agreed to act in the manner I suggested, and a small Committee has been appointed. If I said "the Cabinet" in that case, I should have said "the Government." Of course there are heads of Departments, who are not members of the Cabinet, who ought to be present.

Mr. PRINGLE

If it is decided to publish these excised portions, will they be available before the discussion on Tuesday?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Certainly; if it is found possible to publish them, they ought to be published before the discussion.
