HC Deb 14 March 1917 vol 91 cc1061-2
36. Mr. JOWETT

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the whole of the medically rejected men in the employment of the Postmaster-General at Grantham have received calling-up notices from the local recruiting officer, instructing them to present themselves for enlistment on the 13th instant; and whether, having regard to the illegality of the action, he will give immediate instructions for the notices to be cancelled?

Mr. MACPHERSON

My hon. Friend is under a misapprehension. Three men only, all classed B1, in the employ of the post office at Grantham have been called up.
