asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been drawn to charges of pro-German Influence in the case of members of the Government contained in the speeches of Dr. 904 Ellis Powell and Mr. Arnold White at a meeting in Queen's Hall on Sunday, 4th March; and whether he proposes to take any action under the Defence of the Realm Regulations in the matter?

Are we to understand that if charges of this description are made on public platforms and in the columns of the daily Press they are to remain unanswered?

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that very serious insinuations have been made against men of high judicial capacity, who have no chance of defending themselves?
