HC Deb 07 March 1917 vol 91 cc362-3
10. Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is aware that instances have occurred where soldiers travelling home on leave have been ordered to leave trains on the ground that the trains had been allocated to naval ratings only; whether he is aware that this has resulted in inconvenience to the soldiers and has reduced the time they could spend at home; and whether he will give instructions that where there is accommodation soldiers will be permitted to travel by any train ordered by the Admiralty for naval purposes?

Dr. MACNAMARA

I know nothing of the instances referred to in the question. If, however, my hon. Friend will give me particulars I will make inquiry.
