HC Deb 07 March 1917 vol 91 cc367-8
112. Mr. HAZLETON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food if he is aware that retail firms in Headford, county Galway, who formerly got their supplies of sugar from Messrs. Fahy and Company, Galway, are again left without sugar owing to the failure of Messrs. Fahy to reopen their business; and whether immediate steps will be taken to see that Messrs. Fahy's former customers will receive their allotted quantity of sugar from some other source?

Captain BATHURST

I am informed by the Royal Commission on the sugar supply that the arrangements already made for supplying Messrs. Fahy's customers from other sources are still in operation. Moreover the Commission has lately been informed of other sources from which Messrs. Fahy have been accustomed to draw supplies in the past, and arrangements for the continuance of the supplies also to Messrs. Fahy's customers are now in course of completion.
